Introducing LensSAT™ antenna technology from MatSing

The Future of Satellite Tracking is Passive and Massive with up to 450 Beams.

Simultaneously sense and track hundreds of LEO, MEO, and GEO objects in real time — with one antenna.

  • 1 GHz to 30 GHz support
  • More than 450 individual beams
  • Configuration support full field of view

How it Works

LensSAT™ technology leverages the simplicity and multi-beam capabilities of MatSing’s patented metamaterials dielectric lens.

As signals from multiple feed antennas are transmitted through the lens, they are bent using natural refraction and emerge on the opposite side of the lens with extreme intensity and isolation.

The larger the lens, the more independent beams the lens can support. Creating a high-frequency antenna large enough to track hundreds of objects accurately, simultaneously and in real time, however, meant solving a longstanding and complex RF engineering challenge.

Size matters

Large-format RF lenses operating at high frequencies require exceptionally low dielectric loss, tightly controlled permittivity, extreme dimensional precision, and repeatable manufacturing over electrically large apertures.

Minor variations in lens construction, contour, materials composition, and RF properties can introduce phase errors that reduce gain, increase sidelobes, and degrade multibeam performance.

MatSing’s proprietary materials engineering and manufacturing processes enable scalable production of lenses exceeding 50 wavelengths while maintaining high RF efficiency, broadband performance, excellent beam quality and repeatable electrical characteristics.

A World of New Opportunities

MatSing’s new LensSAT™ technology gives public, private, and government organizations a more efficient and cost-effective solution to wide range of monitoring and tracking challenges:

Multi-satellite gateway antennas for LEO constellations
Direct-to-cell gateway infrastructure
Satellite teleports and high-capacity, feeder-link systems
Maritime, airborne and land-mobile SATCOM
Space domain awareness and multi-object tracking
Multifunction radar and communications
Radio astronomy and deep-space communications

Put the Power of LensSAT™ Technology to Work

Recently, a leading US national research laboratory requested a demonstration of LensSAT™ technology. MatSing engineers developed three antennas with different sizes and configurations:

  • Wideband, 1–18 GHz, 1.2m dia. lens
  • Wideband, 1–12 GHz, 1.8-2.4m dia. lens
  • Ku/K Band, 12–30 GHz, 0.5m dia. lens

All three antennas delivered a consistent >40dBi across all beams and frequencies.

We can help you achieve the same level of performance for your next project. Speak with a MatSing optical RF engineer and put our LensSAT™ technology to work in your next application.
